DIY: Dolce and Gabbana Inspired Floral Sunglasses

Hello Lovelies! I was totally inspired by the Dolce and Gabbana floral sunglasses, but at around $300 a pair,  I decided it was completely doable for me to DIY a pair for a fraction of the cost.
Here is what the final product looks like:

Materials you will need:

Sunglasses- I chose a simple cat eye pair from Forever 21 for $5.80 just in case the DIY didn't turn out as planned.  You can also just use a pair of old sunglasses!
I do suggest getting a pair of cat eye sunglasses (they have a perfect amount of space to glue           flowers on at the edges), but other thick framed glasses will work as well!

Glue- You will need a super strong glue to make sure your glasses last! I personally used E6000 (around $6).

Plastic/Ceramic Flowers- I purchased mine from the seller MyTasu on Etsy. Click here to check her out. Also since I painted my flowers, the colors didn't matter much to me, but she has a wide array of colors in case you want to keep your flowers in their original colors. I spent $11.45.

Spray Paint (Optional)- This is only for people who wish to paint their flowers. I purchased the Krylon Dual Superbond in Gold Metallic. ($6.00)
If you do choose to spray paint your flowers you'll also need some newspapers or something to
cover your working area!

All in all the total price for this DIY was around $29.25, but I had many leftover flowers, glue, and spray paint, so you'll have much left over for the next pair of sunglasses you wish to do!

Now finally let's get started!

First, if you are going to spray paint your flowers, go outside or find a well ventilated area, and    cover the ground/table/etc. with newspapers and place your plastic flowers on it.

Next, paint thin coats until the flowers are covered, wait until dry (check your spray paint's instructions!). Then flip the flowers over and repeat!

Next, play around with the placement of the flowers until you find something you like. And it's finally time to glue on the flowers!

Wait for the glue to dry, and you are done!

I hope you  guys love this DIY as much as I do! I will definitely be flaunting these sunnies proudly and I hope you guys will as well!
I also am going to be adding a new part to my blog posts that I hope you guys will like! I always write my posts with music playing in the background, and at the end of the page, you will find a list of the songs/albums I listened through!

Until next time~XOXO

Albums I listened to while working on this blog post:
Bluetory- CNBLUE
First Step- CNBLUE

Korean Skincare Haul!

Hell-o Lovelies! I am back again with a haul! I am in loove with Korean skincare so I decided to pick up a few products to try out!
I purchased these from Amazon, so I'll try to leave links of the products!

First I purchased the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Sleeping Pack ($15). Find it here.

So a sleeping pack, if you don't know what it is, is a cream/gel that you spread over your face while you sleep. It's also known as an overnight mask. This is supposed to help moisturize your skin extremely well! I heard that this one by Etude House was great, so I decided to pick this up.

Here the Face Shop Rice Water Cleansing Oil ($9). Find it here.

Ok, so the next item is by TonyMoly, a company with great products as well as adorable packaging.
This is the TonyMoly Egg Pore Blackhead Remover Gel ($10) Find it here.
Finally, I got this TonyMoly Pocket Bunny Mist ($9). I picked the "Moist" version but there is also a "Sleek" version. Find both here.
In Korea, facial mists are huge. They help keep your face moisturized throughout the day, and are a great refresher to carry around in your purse. Plus this bunny one is too cute.
That is all I got! I hope you guys enjoyed this haul, and if you guys are interested in reviews of this items, comment below!
Until next time~ XOXO!

Money Saving Tips: Makeup

Hello my lovely daisies! I'm back from that super long hiatus. Blogger doesn't work in China! But, on the bright side, I'm back! With Part 2 of my money saving tips! Hopefully Part 1 helped you, and hopefully Part 2 will be just as helpful!

Lets Start!

1. Makeup is something you should always do your research on, especially more expensive purchases. This way you will waste less money on products you won't use. If you do end up purchasing something that you regret, most stores will let you return gently used products- check their return policy!

2. Skincare before makeup. Always. Always make sure you have a good skincare regime, drugstore or high end, make sure you have a good basic skincare regime down before purchasing a lot of makeup. No matter how elaborate or high end your makeup is, if your skin isn't taken good care of, the makeup will have no use. Your skin is your canvas, and without a good canvas, no makeup can cover a bad canvas.

3. Figure out what products are the most "splurge-worthy" to you. For me, skincare, foundation, concealer, perfume, eyeliner, and neutral eyeshadow pallets are what I am willing to dish out a bit more for. For things like lipsticks, lip glosses, bright eyeshadows, and mascaras, I'm fine with just using drugstore brands. Especially things such as lip care and mascara which I rarely use up before the expiration date, drugstore is best.

4. Join the rewards program of stores like Sephora and Ulta in order to get tips on sales and points when you buy stuff!

5. Buy neutrals before glitter and crazy colors. You will find yourself grabbing the neutrals more often and they are more suitable for everyday use.

6. See if you can get free samples from Sephora when you visit. That way you can try out a product before you buy it!

7. Make sure you buy skincare and makeup that fits your skin type. Getting skin problems from using products for other skin types is just wasting your money!

8. Many lip products and skincare things can be DIY-ed for much less! Plus you know exactly what is in your products. Youtube has many great tutorials. A great substitute for a lip scrub is mixing white sugar with honey.

9. Use olive oil, or coconut oil as a makeup remover. It's all natural and it works great!

10. If you recycle your old packages, companies like Mac and Lush will give you a free product for a certain number of old lipstick tubes (Mac) and tubs (Lush).

11. Try sheet masks! Instead of splurging on facials, one or two sheet masks a week will do wonders on your skin! Plus, if you are extra crafty, you can even make your own! Of course, treat yourself to a facial every once in a while if you want :)

12. Make sure you seal all of your products well, as when they dry out or spill, that's wasting your money!

Those are all my tips! What tips do you have? Comment below!

Until next time!~ XOXO

Carry On Luggage Essentials

Carry On Luggage Essentials

Hello-o Lovelies!
I'm heading out on vacation soon, and I will be on a flight for a 14 hours straight, not to mention transfer flights as well as a 7 hour layaway at an airport.
So I thought I would share some of my carry on luggage essentials with you guys!
I divided everything into four categories: Pampering, Boredom Breaking, Comfy-ing, and Freshening.
Also, make sure any liquids that you bring meet the airline's regulations!

 Pampering
You definitely do not want your skin to get dehydrated on the airplane. Airplanes use recycled air, so this dries your skin out like nobody's business. Here are a few items that I suggest you bringing in order to lock in the moisture into your skin.

1. Moisturizer and/or Facial Oil
You need to moisturize your skin every couple of hours so make sure to bring a favorite. Facial oil is lovely as you just need a little, but it may get a little messy.
Here I just have a Shiseido Hydrating Lotion.

2. Body Lotion
Especially after using hand sanitizer, body lotion is a must. This will keep your hands from cracking!

3. Facial Mist
I loooove this one by Evian. Just spritz some onto your face (over makeup is fine!) and pat dry. Then apply some moisturizer to lock in the moisture. Plus it feels super refreshing! You can get a travel sized duo from Sephora!

4. Lip Balm
Keep those lips from drying out! I love my Blueberry Açai scented one from EOS.

5. Optional: Face Mask or Eye Mask
I know many people love to do a sheet mask on the plane, although I find it a tad awkward, if you want to, go for it!

Boredom Breaking
Ah, I get so bored on planes. It's especially bad on ridiculously long flights. But here are a few things I always bring to combat boredom.

1. A Good Book
I have downloaded tons of books onto my iPad, so I am well prepared. eBooks are a great way to bring books for travel without the physical weight of actually bringing them. Although I prefer physical books, I also prefer to keep my spinal health.
Here are a few on my book list:
Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen
City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Claire
Beastly by Alex Flinn
and two that I received as summer assignments, but am still excited to read:
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
The Upwinding by George Packer

2. iPads, iPhones, Nooks, Tablets, the whole she-bang,
Pretty self explanatory.

3. Earphones
Music is good. Also if your plane has those personal television screens, you can use your own earphones.

Comfying it up!
It gets super cold on planes. Even in summer. So make sure to bring some warm stuff.

1. Outerwear
Make sure to bring a jacket, cardigan, scarf, etc.

2. Fuzzy socks.
This is just a personal thing, but I love to just take off my shoes and slip into comfy socks at my seat. Make sure to put your shoes on when you walk around the cabin though!

Freshening
Lets be honest here, traveling makes you feel super gross and the exact opposite from fresh. But, here are a few things I carry around with me in order to try and combat that gross feeling!

1. Wisp
First of all, these are so cute. They're like tiny little toothbrushes with a little bead of toothpaste in the center. You just brush your teeth like normally, and you don't even need water! They immediately freshen your breath!

2. Hand Sanitizer
A must have! Especially if there isn't a restroom to wash your hands nearby, having one of these is so handy! My favorites are from Bath and Body Works, and they smell ah-mazing!

3. Gum
Not only does gum freshen your breath, but if you chew gum while taking off, it can help with the pain of your ears popping when the air pressure changes!

4. Mini Perfume (not pictured)
Bring one of these just to keep fresh smelling during the day!

That's all guys!
I'll be bringing all of these in a Vera Bradley backpack: it holds everything with tons of room to spare!
What travel necessities do you always bring? Comment below!
Until next time! XOXO
Happy Traveling!

Mini Beauty Haul

Hello dearies! Soo, I'm heading of to vacation soon- to China! Unfortunately, that means I won't be able to blog frequently for the next month, but I will try to get an occasional blog post up!
I stopped by Walgreens and Target today and picked up three beauty products, and here they are.

First, Loreal's True Match Foundation in Warm Nude Beige
I'm excited to try this out, as I have heard great things about this!

Next, Maybelline's Fit Me Concealer in Sand
I am always on a lookout for a good concealer, so I decided to try this out!

Finally, I needed a makeup setting spray, so I picked up this dewy finish one by NYX, one of my favorite drugstore beauty brands.

That's it guys! I'm currently working on a Carry On Essentials post, so keep an eye out for that! Also, if you have tried any of the above products, I would love to hear your thoughts on them.
Until next time~~ XOXO

The Fault In Our Stars Inspired Outfit

The Fault In Our Stars

Helloo Lovelies! So this summer The Fault In Our Stars is going to be coming out in theaters.
As you guys can probably tell from this post, I am super excited!
I actually read this book around a year and a half ago before it was really popular, (hipster points for me!) and I absolutely fell in love with the storyline!
If you guys haven't read this book yet, I highly recommend it! You will get totally invested in these beautiful characters, and it is nearly impossible to put it down after starting it!
I chose this outfit as it is still pretty on trend, with the trend of black and white renewing itself without fail every year, and the pops of color make this outfit fun and eye-catching!
Until next time~! XOXO

Beauty Haul!

April showers bring May flowers and new makeup?
Heeey everyone!
I just picked up some new things at Ulta and Walmart and I would love to share the goodies that I picked up! A few of these I've heard a lot of hype about, so I can't wait to try all these new products!

Ulta:

So I really wanted the NYX butter gloss in Cupcake, but sadly it was out of stock. I had recently purchased Creme Brûlée and I absolutely loved the formula. Instead of Cupcake, I picked up the color Peaches and Creme.

Next I picked up the Maybelline Baby Skin. I've heard so much about this, so I decided to give it a try! It's a great price- only around six bucks too!

Finally the last thing I purchased from Ulta was a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil! I've also heard a lot of hype about this project, and yes, I was very late in joining this train, but I finally remembered to pick it up!
I got the color 611 in Yogurt

Walmart:

Three words: Milani Baked Blushes. Yes. I have heard so much about these, and I am finally able to try them! I picked up two, in the shades Rose D' Oro and Luminoso. Rose D' Oro is almost exactly like it sounds, shimmery and rosy gold, yet it has peach undertones as well. Luminoso is a bit of a warm peachy pinky color.

Here is the Milani Liquid Eye Liner Pencil. I personally prefer pencil eyeliners to liquid eyeliners, as they are easier to apply and better for everyday wear. Yet, I heard that this liner is also great for creating a darker line as well as everyday wear.
I purchased the color 02 brown.

I also bought two mini Juicy Couture fragrances. They are so cute! Both are only 5 mL and are great for travel! I got the scents Couture Couture and of course, Viva La Juicy. These sizes are great as they can be good for testing scents before committing to a full size bottle and are great if you travel a lot or to just slip into your purse!

I needed a new BB Cream, even though I love my Shinbi BB Cream, I couldn't seem to find it anywhere! So I decided to pick up the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. It says it helps prevent breakouts, and contains 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment. Win-Win! I got this in the shade Medium.

Here I picked up the Maybelline DreamLumi touch highlighting concealer in the shade 350. I liked the concept of this item as I passed by it so, in the basket it went!

Finally, I got the Coach Fragrance in Coach Love, and I purchased the full 30 mL bottle. It is floral-y, and a little musky, and smells ah-mazing!

That's it for my haul! I hope you enjoyed reading and comment below if you are interested in reviews on a few of the items once I have tried  them! As always, until next time!~ XOXO

Money Saving Tips: Fashion

Hi Everyone!
I was inspired to do this post because I am currently a high school student, which means I don't have a lot of spare money to always buy high priced fashion items, so here are my tips to be able to look great without spending all your money!

1. Check the sale rack! Especially for expensive stores, you can find great steals in the clearance and sale areas!

2. If you are on a budget, do not spend a lot of money on trends. They do not stay "in" for a long time and you may not get your money's worth on them. Try places like H&M or Forever 21 in order to find nicely priced and cute trendy items.

3. Buy some basics! A white tee, a leather jacket, a denim jacket, and a good pair of dark wash jeans are amazing staples to any closet, and investing in one of each of these items leaves you with an infinite number of outfit combinations you can do!

4. I suggest splurging on accessories as opposed to clothing items 90% of the time. Why? Accessories  can be re-worn and re-worn with different outfits, and they are usually very versatile. Shoes are also usually a very good investment, as they can be worn more as opposed to something like an expensive shirt.

5. Calculate your cost per wearing. Take an item, and tell yourself honestly how many times you are going to wear that item. Then divide the price of the item by the number of times you are going to wear it in maybe a year, perhaps. Like if you are going to wear a $100 dress only once, that is $50 per wear. But, if you are going to wear a $100 dollar pair of shoes 50 times, you are getting a much better deal here. You don't have to do this for every item, just the few things that you are hesitant about.

6. If you are hesitant about buying an item, ask the cashier to place it on hold while you scour the mall for other things. Then come back later to decide whether or not to buy it. This will save you from those return trips and instinctive buys.

7. Check the tag of those "weird" fabrics of things like blazers, blouses, and some skirts. If the cleaning label says "Dry Clean Only", ask yourself whether you will take good care of the item. If you are not, it is probably not worth the buy if it's going to either rarely get washed or ruined.

8. Figure out your shopping style. Do you like shopping alone or with friends? I personally like shopping with friends as they always give their honest opinion about whether or not a thing looks good on.

9. If you are eyeing a splurge, a suggest maybe giving the idea a week or two to sink in. Often after that week, that splurge item doesn't look so worth splurging on anymore. If it does still look as enticing as ever, go for it!

10. Contrary to tip #1, check out the sale section, but do not buy something simply because it is a good deal.  If you buy a lot of things that you will barely wear just because the price is right, all those "cheap" items become not so cheap anymore. Those small numbers add up, and sooner or later if you hadn't bought things that were just "a good deal" and not because you genuinely liked them, you could have had a good chunk of money to buy something high end that you really liked.

11. Expand your shopping circle. Check out new stores, even the pricey ones, as many have great deals and sales going on all the time.

12. Finally, do NOT buy stuff because everyone else has it or if it is just a trend. Spend money on things you genuinely like, not because everyone else likes it, because it is these items that you will wear the most.

I hope you liked these tips and keep an eye out for Part 2 (Beauty)!
Comment below with your tips and your thoughts on my tips!
Until next time~ XOXO

Life is All But A Dream

Life is All But A Dream

OOTD: Comfy Florals

Hello-o lovelies!
So on Friday my friend and fellow blogger (click here to check her out) decided to head to our local mall to do some shopping!
When I go shopping, my outfit has to be
1. comfortable
2. easy to change out of
 3. hands free
So this rules out uncomfortable jackets that I probably will have to carry around, clutches, high heels,  and sweaters.
Why sweaters? Because when you are constantly in and out of the dressing rooms, changing out of sweaters can be a static party for your hair. You can combat this by bringing a dryer sheet, but it still brings unwanted hassle to your shopping experience.
For this outfit, I chose some really soft and comfortable high waisted shorts, a cropped floral tank, and a cream cardigan. For shoes I chose my oxfords, and I decided to keep the accessorizing minimal because it can be a hassle to be shopping with too much clinking and clanging going on: a simple necklace will do the trick.
Finally I chose one of my favorite purses for the springtime. It's neutral, and has a hint of coral which adds a fun pop of color!
Side note: I also suggest bringing a hair tie, because sometimes a simple ponytail is just what a girl needs on a tiring shopping day!

Where things are from:
Top: Hand-me-down
Shorts: F21
Cardigan: H&M
Shoes: Ross; Madden Girl
Bag: Coach
Necklace: F21

My next spring trends post should be up in a few days! Until next time! XOXO

Spring Trends: White on White

Everything is All White

Hey everyone! I am back with another of my series for wearable spring trends.
This time I am going to show you guys one of my favorites: White on White.
This was also a trend, although not a prominent, last spring. Here are my tips to attack this trend!

1. Add splashes of COLOR! That way, your outfit isn't just completely monochromatic, but it has a little bit of fun in it! For example, a neon wallet, or bright sunnies! I think even bright lipstick would be stunning!
2. To go along with tip #1, choose Pastels if you want to have a softer look; likewise, choose Bright colors for a BOLD look.
3. Keep your accessories simple. The white on white is already a statement: a hunk of jewelry will just block the boldness of this look- not to mention, you'll look cluttered.
4. A easy way to break the monochromatic look of this trend is to tie a flannel around your waist.
5. For the bold: long pants really show off this trend. For the less bold: shorts can still pull of the trend, but it won't be as big of a statement. A white dress is most likely the easiest way to wear this trend.
6. I suggest silver jewelry for a clean and fresh look!
7. This isn't really a styling tip, but it is re-allllyy important! Carry around some Tide pens or stain removers because this is a tricky trend to wear- it gets dirty really easily!
8. This trend is easier to style for casual wear than formal wear. But for a little more of a formal look, a little white dress and some cute white wedges are a simple way to wear this trend without being to dramatic.
9. Make sure your shades of white are around the SAME! Contrary to popular belief, not all whites are the same. Before heading out the door do a quick color check. When two drastically different whites are put together, the look isn't as clean.

Tell me what YOU think of this trend! How are you liking this series? Do you have any suggestions for future Spring Trends posts? Comment below!
Next trend on the list: Kimonos
Until next time~ XOXO

Daisy Days

Daisy Days

Spring Hauling: F21, Target, and Macy's

Hello my lovely daisies!~
I decided to do some shopping today to relax after taking the ACT ^_^
Today wasn't one of  those plentiful shopping days, but I did find some cute items
Let's get started, shall we?

Macy's

At Macy's I picked up this Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Perfume set.
I had smelled the Green Tea and Honeysuckle Scent before, and I had fallen in love. I was looking to pick up the full size of that scent, but the counter did not have it in stock. My eyes fell on this set and I immediately wanted to try this out. All the scents are really lovely, but my favorite is still the Green Tea and Honeysuckle. For only $25, you get four .5 fl. ounce bottles.
Target
I wanted to get some new nail polishes for spring, so I stopped by one of my favorite stores: Target.
First I picked up Watermelon by Essie
It is a beautiful bright pink-not hot pink, but a more of a light berry-ish color

Next up, Go Ginza by Essie
It is a lovely lilac color. It has hints of a light pink.
I used to have Lilacism by Essie as well, but that is more of a purple color, and has more of a grey base, while this color has more of a white base, if you know what I mean!
Here I have L'Oreal's Smell the Roses 330. I saw this on clearance for 47 cents!? So I had to pick this up. It is a pretty nude-ish pink that is more on the darker side, so I think this might be a pretty color for painting my toes.
Finally I picked up a top coat. this is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in 110 Clearly Quick.
I was looking to pick up Seche Vite, but that was out of stock. So I returned to one of my old time favorites for a quick drying, inexpensive top coat.
F21
I picked up this beautiful cream crop top. It is really versatile, either paired with high waisted shorts or skater skirts.
Next, I picked up this muscle tank that totally brought out the nerd in me.
It is the famous quote from Shakespeare's Hamlet beginning "To be or not to be"
I thought this would be an easy, casual top to wear on those hot summer/spring days with maybe a bandeau underneath.

Finally I picked up this cute dainty necklace. I am in love with wearing simple necklaces, as they are really casual and look adorable with every outfit without overpowering the look.

That's all for now! What have you picked up recently? Comment below!
Until next time!~ XOXO

Wearing Spring Trends: Pastels

Pretty Pastels for Spring
Hello lovelies!~
So this is a start of my spring trends series where I find some wearable trends that are currently in this spring 2014.
To start it off, I'm  going to start with a trend that I wear regardless if it is "in" or not.
Pastels!
I already love this trend as for some reason, I am strangely attracted to pastel shades.
Here are my tips on wearing this trend.

1. Do not overdue it! Keep it to around 2-3 pieces of pastels, as seen above, I only used two pastels.
2. White is lovely with pastels, it really contrasts well with the pastels and brightens up your outfit!
3. If you aren't a huge light and girly color wearer, I suggest maybe going for some pastel nail polish or jewelry.
4. Color block! If you aren't afraid of jumping on this trend train, color blocking is a bold and fun way to wear this trend.
5. With pastels you can either go girly with lace, frills, peter pan collars, etc.
or even edgy with cleaner cuts; you don't need those frills!
6. If this isn't really your trend, try a neutralish base; white jeans, faded denim, black blazer, etc!
7. Gold jewelry really stands out against the pastel shades, while silver blends in more and is a softer look!

That's all for now! Comment below what you think of this trend, and any suggestions that you have for wearing pastels!
Until next time~ XOXO

OOTD

Hey everyone! I'm back with another OOTD! By the way, tell me how you like these:)
Anywayyys...
Today I felt like wearing a super girly outfit that is totally my style.
So since it is still a little chilly here in the Midwest, I wore a cropped sweater over a skater dress of mine as well as knee high socks under boots. Tell me what you think of this outfit; I love hearing all your feedback!
Until next time!~XOXO

OOTD

Hey everyone~ I thought I'd show you my outfit of today.
I really wanted to be comfy today, so I threw on a pair of jeggings and combat boots. The edgy-ness of the combat boots contrasts well with the girlyness of this sequined top with chiffon in the back. This top also has two layers, which adds some very nice dimension. To finish it off, I decided to pair the top with a long necklace that balances well with the nude color!
